College Retro Bowl is a spin-off of the Retro Bowl series, taking players into the world of American college football. While the original revolves around the professional NFL, the College version focuses on the unique challenges of leading a college team, from recruiting and balancing academics and sports to managing scholarships and player morale.

College Retro Bowl game setting and goals

You play as a newly appointed coach, tasked with reviving a struggling team. The goal is not only to win on the field but also to comprehensively manage the team:

• Maintain your GPA (academic points) so that players do not get suspended.
• Recruit and train new players, and compete with big universities like Michigan, Georgia or Oregon.
• Build a reputation to be invited to lead stronger teams in the future.

College Retro Bowl gameplay

The gameplay on the field retains the classic Retro Bowl style:

• The passing, running, and scoring touchdowns are all familiar, with a simple yet tactical control system.
• You can build a 12-man squad, fine-tune your offensive and defensive tactics, and utilize your team's stars to turn the game around.

In addition, the College version adds new management elements:

• GPA & study: players can be suspended if their scores are too low. You have to balance between heavy training and giving them time to study.
• Scholarships & funding: need funding from alumni or the school fund to upgrade facilities and recruit players.
• Student life: players can have majors, groups, and even personal interests, making each person have their own story.

In the first matches, players will clearly see the difference: the squad may be weak, many players' GPAs are low, and winning is not easy. But through smart recruiting, rigorous coaching, and proper academic management, you can gradually take your team from the bottom to the national title contenders.
