Doodle Jump is not only one of the earliest mobile games, but it also became an iconic symbol of an entire generation of smartphone users. With its simple gameplay, unique hand-drawn art style, and tilt-based controls, Doodle Jump was once a must-have on every iPhone or iPod Touch back in the day.
Before achieving success with Doodle Jump, the developer Lima Sky experimented with several small games, such as Eat Bunny Eat, a game where players controlled a bunny eating carrots using tilt sensors. From there, they developed Hop Bunny Hop, but weren’t satisfied with the visuals. They decided to test a hand-drawn, sketchy style, and surprisingly, this “doodle” approach turned out to be more appealing. That’s how Doodle Jump was born.
In the game, you control the main character called the Doodler, a small creature that jumps on platforms to climb as high as possible. You tilt your phone left or right to move, and the doodler jumps automatically. Tap the screen to shoot bullets and defeat monsters in your way.

While the mechanics are simple, the game still requires quick reflexes, sharp eyes, and a bit of luck to achieve high scores.
Doodle Jump proves that a simple, easy-to-understand, and creative game can still become a legend. If you’ve never played it or just want to relive old memories, press start and give it a try. Somewhere out there, a tiny doodler is still waiting for you to help it jump higher than ever. Ready for a new challenge?
