An abandoned toy factory. Employees have vanished without a trace for years. And a mysterious letter claims they are still alive.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 starts your adventure through Playtime Co., an old factory that used to create popular children’s toys. You are a former worker who returns to the factory 10 years later to find out what really transpired behind the dust-covered walls and hidden mysteries of the factory.

Chapter 1 is different from typical horror games that only rely on jump scares. Instead it revolves around environmental exploration, puzzles and survival in a strange atmosphere.
From the very first minutes, you'll journey through once-bustling areas of the factory, from the toy display hall to the massive production lines. During the exploration, players will find many VHS tapes containing information about the company, its employees, and secret projects that were once carried out there.
The most important tool in the game is the GrabPack, a special backpack that allows you to remotely control the mechanical arms. Initially, you only have the blue arm, then you will unlock the red arm. These are used to open doors, activate switches, conduct electricity, and solve a series of environmental puzzles.
Many challenges require players to pull electrical wires through power poles or find a way to connect to the power source to start the machinery in the factory.
The iconic character of Chapter 1 is Huggy Wuggy, the giant toy with the terrifying smile that always appears at the most unexpected times. Initially, it just stands still as a harmless display item. But the more you go into the facility, the more you realise that there is something wrong, behind those dead eyes.
Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 was the smallest game in the series yet it was the foundation of the whole Poppy Playtime plot. The huge toy factory, the ingenious environmental puzzles and the magnificent chase with Huggy Wuggy make a gripping horror experience that doesn’t rely on continual jump scares. Once you survive the chase of Huggy Wuggy, you can play other horror games like That’s Not My Neighbour.
