GeoGuessr is an incredibly engaging geography game where you're randomly dropped into a location somewhere in the world via Google Street View. Your task is simple: observe all the details around you and guess where you are on the map. It sounds easy, but to get a high score you need a keen eye, geographical knowledge, and a bit of intuition.

How to play GeoGuessr

In Daily Challenge mode, players receive the same set of 5 locations (seeds) each day. You have 5 rounds, each round featuring a different location. After observing road signs, lane markings, tree types, architecture, sun direction, license plate color, or even the color of Google's car, you must pin a location on the world map. The closer your guess is to the actual location, the higher your score (up to 5000 points per round).

Read environmental clues

For example: double white lane markings and short dashed lines might suggest Northern Europe like Estonia or Sweden. Dry vegetation, low hills, and driving on the left might make you think of South Africa. Birch forests, long country roads, and black cars could be Russia. Sometimes you don't need to know the exact city – just guessing the area correctly can save you a lot of points.

Always look at the big picture before zooming in on details

Look at the terrain – is it mountainous or flat, does the climate look cold or tropical, which direction the sun is pointing – to determine the hemisphere. When in doubt between two areas, choose the most logical option instead of overthinking.
