Tanuki Sunset

In Tanuki Sunset, you play as a tanuki skateboarding on winding roads that run towards the sunset. The game offers an Endless Mode, where players challenge themselves by going as far as possible. There is no time limit, no need to hold the forward key continuously—just you, the skateboard and unexpected turns.

Tanuki Sunset Controls

• Arrow keys / WASD: Move the tanuki left or right to avoid obstacles and drift around corners.
• Space / Up Arrow: Jump—helps to overcome cracks or low obstacles.
• Down Arrow: Drop down or drift while in the air.
• Z / X: Perform tricks like 360° spins; if successful, you will receive extra points/bits.

Variable paths

Endless Mode does not just repeat the same scene over and over. You can start in Sunset Peaks, then suddenly move to the city or the beach area, each with its own obstacles—like crabs crawling across the road, cracks, or sharp turns that make players sweat. The roads remain the same, but the backgrounds and challenges are always changing to create a new feeling.

Scores and rewards

As you play, you will collect bits—the in-game currency. Many people find that Endless Mode does not really provide motivation to farm bits. The idea is that if you reach the 500m or 1000m mark, players can get bonus bits, or when performing a beautiful drift, turning 360° in the air, you will get more rewards. However, currently, reaching records is mainly about joy and personal achievement rather than rewards in the shop.

Rhythm and feeling

The music in Tanuki Sunset always feels chill, sometimes mixed with vibrant music when you drift long or rush downhill. Combined with the sunsets that gradually turn into the city or the beach, the game offers an interesting balance: both relaxing and dramatic.
