Trees Hate You is an action-survival game with annoying troll trap elements. The game places you in a seemingly ordinary forest, but it's actually a vibrant labyrinth where everything can turn against you. The forest in the game is anything but still. Trees aren't just for decoration; they become a source of danger. Paths that seem safe hide traps, and the surrounding environment constantly puts the player in a state of being hunted.

The basic mechanics are simple: move, observe, and find your way forward. But the problem is that every step can trigger a trap. You might be knocked down the grass the moment you touch it, or stand near a tree and immediately be counterattacked.
The game doesn't encourage you to memorize the paths. There are sections you think you're familiar with, but returning to them can still lead to your death. The key is reflexes and the ability to react immediately.
Many times you'll be chased by multiple things at the same time. At this point, stopping to think is almost suicidal. You have to run, dodge, and hope to choose the right direction in a split second. Clear, straight paths are often traps. The game tends to place traps in the places where you feel safest.
Trees Hate You is not a game for relaxation. It's more of a test of patience and the ability to adapt to constantly frustrating situations. You will die many times, sometimes illogically, even frustratingly. But the feeling of almost getting through will draw you back again. And when you start correctly predicting traps and avoiding seemingly impossible situations, you'll realize: you're not necessarily a better player, you've just become accustomed to the way this game thinks.
